Embracing the calm and enhancing your wellbeing through Reflexology
Hello, my name is Anna, I am a fully qualified, insured and Enhanced DBS checked Reflexologist, proudly registered with the Association of Reflexologists (AoR) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I gained my Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology and Level 3 in Healthy Eating and Wellbeing in 2024 whilst training with Louise Keet at the London School of Reflexology based on the original Ingham Reflexology Method.
My training included 100 hours of classroom learning, 100 completed treatments with consultations and foot reading interpretations, an ITEC Anatomy and Physiology Exam, a final Practical Exam and countless hours of self study. My professional background is in NHS healthcare, I am a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist with a career spanning 20 years in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Nursing.
Since qualifying as a Reflexologist, I have undertaken further training in:
Reflexology has become a passion but I also make time for and enjoy the simple things in life, a walk in nature, meet up with friends, music, dancing, yoga, meditation and a good film! Thank you for visiting my webpage, I hope you find what you are looking for and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Reflexology is a gentle complementary therapy that is carried out on the hands or feet but actually benefits the whole body. Touch generally has been well researched and found to calm our nervous system, lower heart rate, blood pressure, and cortisol (stress hormone) levels, releasing those feel-good hormones, leaving you feeling relaxed and calm yet energised. During a Reflexology treatment, a gentle pressure is applied through touch on specific 'reflex points’ on the hands or feet which are believed to correspond to the organs of the body and the wider bodily systems. This is thought to initiate the body's own natural healing abilities, promoting deep relaxation and helping to restore balance in the body where it is needed most.
Whilst Reflexology cannot diagnose, cure, or replace medical care for health conditions, it can be helpful in the symptom management of common health issues or when dealing with the stress surrounding a condition. The intention to heal is an important part of my Reflexology practice, and so your reason for treatment is always at the heart of every treatment I give.
By encouraging the parasympathetic nervous system, Reflexology can be helpful in promoting relaxation, releasing tension, improving mood, sleep, and enhancing general well-being.
Reflexology also encourages the body and mind to slow down, take stock, recharge and re-energise, giving you that feel good factor.
By supporting the natural balance of the body, Reflexology can help you feel physically and emotionally restored and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can help you sustain these benefits.
Mobile treatments take place in the comfort of your own home, with a choice of a comfortable Lafuma chair, or chair in your home, soothing music and the use of natural oil/balms that are kind to your skin. Available on Saturdays and some Thursdays (Wednesday and Thursday evenings on request).

Reflexology can be given as a stand alone treatment or a course of treatments for a particular issue. An individualised treatment plan with the recommended number of sessions will be suggested for you after your initial consultation and treatment. Please note that everyone is unique and so the response to Reflexology can be immediate or you may require more than one session. Generally, benefits can be seen after 4-5 regular treatments giving the body the best opportunity for the self-healing process to begin.
To get the most benefit from a treatment, it is recommended that you have the opportunity to relax somewhat afterwards, you can carry on about your usual day, however it isn’t advisable to have a treatment directly before something too stressful or exerting. Having something light to eat and no less than an hour before treatment is best, post treatment again stick to a lighter meal and avoid coffee for a couple of hours. Alcohol should be avoided before and after a treatment.
Loose, comfortable clothing is best to enable you to fully relax. You will not be required to remove anything other than your socks and shoes, leaving just your feet and ankles exposed. A seasonal blanket may be used to cover you during the treatment for warmth and comfort and for mobile treatments you will be invited to use a blanket of your own.
Reflexology is a gentle therapy and should not be painful. At times there may be sensitivities to the touch but the techniques and pressure used are light and intuitive with what is right for you. Unique thumb and finger walking techniques are used throughout, applying varying pressure at identified reflex points to suit your needs.
Reflexology is particularly beneficial for relieving symptoms of stress, tension and anxiety, which is why it is such a popular complementary therapy. My clients have also shared with me that they have noticed improvements with their sinus issues, quality of their sleep, headache relief, improved lymphatic drainage, mood and aches and pains. Reflexology cannot diagnose, cure or replace medical care for health conditions, but it can be helpful in the symptom management of common health issues or when dealing with the stress surrounding a condition. Please consult your GP or specialist before commencing Reflexology if you are unsure.
Yes, you can have reflexology whilst you are pregnant, however there are things to be mindful of and I would encourage anyone who is seeking Reflexology for fertility or pregnancy issues to identify a Reflexologist that has carried out further specialist training in these areas to ensure you get the best support. Whilst I have not undertaken specific training in this area, I can signpost you to reputable Reflexologists who have.
