Promoting General Well being
Hello, my name is Anna, I am a fully qualified, insured and Enhanced DBS checked Reflexologist, proudly registered with the Association of Reflexologists (AoR) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). This means that I adhere to their codes of conduct and have met the qualification requirements to practice as a Reflexologist. I gained my Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology whilst training with Louise Keet at the London School of Reflexology.
My professional background is in NHS healthcare, I am also a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and have a career spanning 20 years in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Nursing. I have specialised in Eating Disorders for the last 8 years and have worked with children, families and adults throughout my career.
I pride myself on delivering high standards of care to ensure my clients receive a professional and excellent service. My love of natural healing, my empathy for others and genuine interest in peoples wellbeing, supporting them to live healthy and fulfilling lives is what drives my Reflexology practice.
Having experience of living with the effects of stress and chronic pain, I know how overwhelming life can get and I am keen to help others live stronger, happier and healthier lives. I have undertaken specialist Reflexology training to enhance my skills in helping those living with Stress and Anxiety and chronic health conditions such as Lymphoedema, (I am an approved Reflexology Lymph Drainage Practitioner, registered on the RLD register Sally Kay Method). I am currently undertaking Reflexology for Menopause training and also support those who want to improve their general wellbeing. Take a look at my Treatments and Prices page for details of the treatments I offer.
Aside from Reflexology I also enjoy the simple things in life, a walk in nature, meeting up with friends, music, dancing, reading, Yoga, Qigong, Meditation and escaping the world for a while with a good film!
Thank you so much for visiting my webpage, I am glad you found me and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Reflexology is a gentle, complementary therapy carried out on the hands, feet, face or ears. I am trained to give treatments on the hands and feet. Its holistic approach takes into account the person as a whole, therefore each treatment is individualised to meet your specific needs. Your treatment begins with soothing and relaxing effleurage (massage) to warm up the tissues, relax the muscles, encourage blood flow and stimulate the nerves. Throughout the treatment, a gentle pressure is applied to specific 'reflex points’ believed to correspond to the organs of the body and the wider bodily systems. The techniques used initiate the body's own natural healing abilities, promoting deep relaxation and helping you to restore balance in your body where it is needed most.
Whilst Reflexology cannot diagnose, cure, or replace medical care for health conditions, it can be helpful in the symptom management of common health issues or when dealing with the stress surrounding a condition. The intention to heal is an important part of my Reflexology practice, and so your reason for treatment is always at the heart of every treatment I give.
By encouraging the parasympathetic nervous system (our bodys relaxed state of being), Reflexology can be helpful in promoting relaxation, releasing tension, improving mood, sleep, and enhancing general well-being. Great for when you are feeling stressed, living with Menopausal symptoms or generally feeling out of sorts.
By supporting the natural balance of the body, Reflexology can help you feel physically and emotionally restored. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle alongside Reflexology can help you sustain these benefits, reduce the effects of stress and help you cope better with lifes ups and downs.
Mobile treatments take place in the comfort of your own surroundings, in a relaxing Lafuma chair, or preferred chair within your home. Relax to soothing music of your choice and enjoy the use of natural oil/balms that are kind to your skin.
Available on Mondays, Saturdays plus Wednesday and Thursday evenings on request.
Treatments at the Upminster Sanctuary, are in a beautiful, calm and relaxing setting with a quiet uninterrupted space, heated blanket for those cooler days, soothing music, natural mediums and a complementary herbal tea or water. You are also welcome to enjoy some time in the peaceful gardens before or after your treatment which I thoroughly recommend..

Reflexology can be given as a stand alone treatment or a course of treatments for a particular issue. An individualised treatment plan with the recommended number of sessions will be suggested for you after your initial consultation and treatment. Please note that everyone is unique and so the response to Reflexology can be immediate or you may require more than one session. Generally, benefits can be seen after 4-5 regular treatments giving the body the best opportunity for the self-healing process to begin.
To get the most benefit from a treatment, it is recommended that you have the opportunity to relax somewhat afterwards, you can carry on about your usual day, however it isn’t advisable to have a treatment directly before something too stressful or exerting. Having something light to eat and no less than an hour before treatment is best, post treatment again stick to a lighter meal and avoid coffee for a couple of hours. Alcohol should be avoided before and after a treatment.
Loose, comfortable clothing is best to enable you to fully relax. You will not be required to remove anything other than your socks and shoes, leaving just your feet and ankles exposed. A seasonal blanket may be used to cover you during the treatment for warmth and comfort and for mobile treatments you will be invited to use a blanket of your own.
Reflexology is a gentle therapy and should not be painful. At times there may be sensitivities to the touch but the techniques and pressure used are light and intuitive with what is right for you. Unique thumb and finger walking techniques are used throughout, applying varying pressure at identified reflex points to suit your needs.
Reflexology is particularly beneficial for relieving symptoms of stress, tension and anxiety, which is why it is such a popular complementary therapy. My clients have also shared with me that they have noticed improvements with their sinus issues, quality of their sleep, headache relief, improved lymphatic drainage, mood and aches and pains. Reflexology cannot diagnose, cure or replace medical care for health conditions, but it can be helpful in the symptom management of common health issues or when dealing with the stress surrounding a condition. Please consult your GP or specialist before commencing Reflexology if you are unsure.
Yes, you can have reflexology whilst you are pregnant, however there are things to be mindful of and I would encourage anyone who is seeking Reflexology for fertility or pregnancy issues to identify a Reflexologist that has carried out further specialist training in these areas to ensure you get the best support. Whilst I have not undertaken specific training in this area, I can signpost you to reputable Reflexologists who have.
